Just as the Renaissance era was a time of renewal that allowed humans to look at the world with curiosity and wonder, your Boudoir photoshoot is an invitation to look at yourself through a new lens; to change your thoughts and opinions about your self-worth and your body. We named the studio after this time in history because we hope that you’ll leave your Boudoir experience feeling reborn, revived and ready for your very own Renaissance in your life, whatever that may be.

Plus, have you seen all the beautiful humans in the famous Renaissance paintings?!

About The Renaissance Room:

Welcome, I’m Katie!
(she/her)

I’m your photographer, hype gal, wardrobe consultant and biggest fan for your Renaissance Room photoshoot…and, YES, that’s me in these Boudoir photos! So believe me when I say I know exactly how empowering & life-changing a Boudoir photoshoot can be.

It took me nearly 30 years to realize just how much energy I’d been spending on hating myself and my body. I’ve experienced an eating disorder, anxiety, depression and extreme perfectionism (check out my podcast if these topics interest you!).

Despite my absolute best efforts, I eventually learned I couldn’t hate myself into happiness and self-acceptance. In addition to years of therapy & support from my friends and family, one of the BIGGEST things that helped me learn to love myself and quiet my inner critic was getting in front of the camera for my very own Boudoir photoshoot.

Aside from my own transformative experience doing a Boudoir shoot, I was also inspired to open a Boudoir studio by the hundreds of clients I’ve photographed during my nearly ten years as a wedding photographer. Even in a gorgeous wedding gown with professional hair/makeup done, on what society claims should be “the best day of your life,” nearly every client of mine found something about themselves to criticize in the mirror. It was absolutely heart-breaking to see this happening over and over again, and I wanted to try to do something about it!

It’s now my mission to prove to as many people as possible that your wedding day isn’t the only day of your life that you should feel beautiful and desired. You are worthy every single day, and I want you to have that daily reminder in the form of timeless Boudoir photos!

You may see Allie pop into your inbox as they help answer emails or may be hanging in the studio to help edit your images at super speed! Allie also keeps our plants alive and gives me all the Gen Z fashion advice to keep me young and trendy.

Miranda is one of our wildly talented Hair/Makeup artists and makes the word’s most supreme Spotify playlists. She’ll make you look like your most radiant version of yourself and will stick around during your photoshoot to ensure your hair and makeup looks flawless from beginning to end of your session.
